Our Review
This is the venture of winemaker Hadyn Black and business partner Darcy Naunton. Their common interest in wine saw them take a great leap in '15, buying 1t of shiraz from the renowned Malakoff vineyard in the Pyrenees, with further vintages following. Hadyn and wife Lucy Black purchased a rundown vineyard in Great Western in late ’16, naming it Hounds Run after their hounds. Hadyn has an exceptional understanding of riesling, perhaps in part to his time spent at Best’s (see separate entry), and unsurprisingly, his Rupunzel Riesling is a standout of the portfolio.
