Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard

Alan Hickinbotham planted his namesake vineyard to dry-grown cabernet sauvignon and shiraz in ’71. His father, Alan Robb Hickinbotham, co-founded the oenology diploma at Roseworthy in 1936. Jackson Family Wines bought the estate in ’12; it is run as a separate business to its Yangarra Estate Vineyard. The vineyard has been farmed according to organic and biodynamic practices since '19. Napa Valley based winemaker, Chris Carpenter (he makes wines for Cardinale, Lokoya, La Jota and Mt Brave to name a few), joined the team with the change in ownership in '12.
