Stage Door Wine Co is owned by Graeme Thredgold, a successful musician who changed tack to the liquor industry in the early ’90s. He started out in sales with Lion Nathan and SA brewing before venturing into the world of wine as national sales manager for Andrew Garrett in ’98. Around ’00 he moved on to the more fertile pasture of Tucker Seabrook as state sales manager for SA. Further roles with Barossa Valley Estate and as general manager of Chain of Ponds Wines added to an impressive career in sales and marketing, before he made his final move – to general manager of Eden Hall Wines, which is owned by his sister and brother-in-law, Mardi and David Hall. Grapes are sourced mainly from the family vineyard, plus contract-grown fruit. -JAMES HALLIDAY
