Honey Moon Vineyard

Jane Bromley and Hylton McLean established their small Adelaide Hills site with a devotion to pinot noir (clones 777, 114, 115, MV6 and GM18) and shiraz selected from 2 old vineyards known for their spicy fruit flavours. The moon is a striking feature of the landscape, particularly at harvest time when, as a full moon, it appears as a dollop of rich honey in the sky – hence the name. The first vintage was ’07, but Jane has been making wine since ’01, with a particular interest in traditional method sparkling wine production. Hylton is a winemaker, researcher and educator with over 30 years’ experience. -JAMES HALLIDAY
