Our Review
The High Garden vineyard, planted in ’01 to pinot noir on one of the highest sites in Gibbston, Central Otago’s coldest subregion, was bought in ’20 by Scottish-born MW Robin Tedder. Together with experienced viticulturist Gary Crabbe and consultant winemaker Jen Parr (also Valli, see separate listing), they produce terroir-driven, single-vineyard wines with minimal intervention. In ’23, almost half the vineyard (2ha) was grafted to chardonnay; from vintage ’26, High Garden Vineyard will produce a chardonnay as well as a pinot noir. -ANNA WEBSTER
