Pulpit Rock

Pulpit Rock brings together a team of professionals covering the field from grape to glass. Dr Richard Smart was the consultant viticulturist to give the venture his blessing; the wine is made by well-known Hunter Valley winemaker Rhys Eather; it is distributed by co-owner Carol-Ann Martin, with more than 20 years' experience as owner of a fine wine distribution business; and the wine is consumed wherever possible by her architect husband Philip Martin. The 2ha each of chardonnay and pinot noir are managed on a minimal intervention basis, never easy in the Southern Highlands climate, but with obvious success. -JAMES HALLIDAY
